Description
The Old Farmhouse at Parc Cynog is a two-storey building constructed from rubble stone, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof and featuring brick end stacks, one of which has likely been removed from the ridge. The structure is double-fronted on the right side, while the left side contains a single-bay service range that is situated downhill of the main house. The stonework indicates that the upper floor was added in the mid-19th century, characterized by grey limestone quoins, while the lower section retains remnants of lime render.
The house features two 15-pane sash windows under the eaves on the upper floor, with one smaller window on the right side, positioned higher due to the slope of the land. The left end of the building has a 16-pane window on each floor. The upper windows are located under the eaves, and the lower windows are adorned with timber lintels. The left end wall is roughcast, with a broad sloping abutment at the ground floor level. At the rear, there is a lean-to addition on the ground floor, located at the center and right side of the building. Additionally, there is a slate-roofed single-storey extension at the upper end, which has two windows on the front, one on the end wall, and one on the rear, all featuring stone slab lintels.
Currently, the building is used as a store.
