Description

17 Mansel Street is one of a row of single-storey houses dating to the 19th century. The front is stuccoed, with a slate roof featuring a stone stack at the right end. There are four-pane sash windows, one on each side of the central doorway, each without glazing bars and with surrounds featuring quarter-round stopped mouldings. The central doorway has a hardwood four-panel door surmounted by an overlight. Slate sills are present. The front forecourt wall has been rebuilt in brick, preserving a single course of stone at its base and painted coping. A stone pier with a benchmark is located at the south end. Original 19th-century iron railings with arrow-headed finials run along the front, including a matching gate. The building has group value. Not inspected.
