Description
This is an early 19th-century outbuilding attached at the southwest angle to a walled garden at Trevacoon. The high rubble stone walls enclose a sloping garden that measures about 40 meters by 45 meters, which is now partly filled with 20th-century agricultural buildings. There is a larger later opening on the west side. The east side features an original doorway with a cambered head, and a plaque above it bears the initials "SH," indicating Samuel Harries.
The outbuilding, which is two stories tall and constructed of rubble stone, is now gutted and may have originally served as a formal garden building. It appears to be unfinished or partially demolished and has been converted into a utilitarian structure. The east wall used to extend further south and shows blocked remains of an arched doorway and a ground floor window to the right, complete with voussoirs and a keystone. There is a plain window on the first floor. The south gable wall is plain and may have been rebuilt further north when the building was reduced in size. The longer west wall has traces of an arched central door and flanking windows, all of which are blocked with voussoirs removed. The upper windows on this wall are also plain and blocked. The north end includes a plain doorway on the ground floor to the right and a large flight of outside steps leading to an upper door on the right. The condition of the building is poor.
