Description
Maesgwynne is a farmhouse constructed with whitewashed stucco and rubble stone, topped with slate roofs. The front range, dating from the earlier to mid-19th century, features a hipped roof with small brick end stacks. It has a stuccoed three-window front, which includes 12-pane sash windows and a central four-panel door with an overlight. The windows have cut slate sills. The roof slopes slightly lower at the rear elevation, where there is a cambered-headed six-pane stair light at the angle to the rear wing, and to the right, a six-pane square window located above a sash window.
The rear wing is an earlier structure made of whitewashed rubble stone, presenting a three-window range with a deep chimney wall to the left and a stone end stack that has been raised in brick. It features one nine-pane sash window and two four-pane sash windows above two cambered-headed 12-pane sashes, with a central door. The left sash window appears to have stone voussoirs, while the right sash is brick. The end wall includes a ground floor left window with a brick head, and the rear has an outshut with altered windows on each side of a door leading into a 20th-century porch.
Inside the front range, there is a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
