Description

Gelli Bridge is a rubble masonry structure featuring one large semicircular arch and one small semicircular arch, with spans of approximately 7 meters and 4 meters, respectively. Each arch has keystones on both sides. The bridge has a single pier with a cutwater on the upstream side, although the pedestrian refuge above it has been filled in. On the downstream side, there is a large remedial buttress. The bridge's carriageway is 2.4 meters wide between the parapets, which extend further alongside the approach roads at both ends. Notably, the upstream parapet on the right bank integrates with the retaining wall of the river channel.
