Description

This is an exceptionally large, circular rubble limekiln from the early to mid 19th century, built into a bank. On the north side, there is a corrugated iron lean-to, and to the south, a small outbuilding sits between the kiln and an adjacent bungalow, which obscures the kiln-eye. The crucible has been infilled and grassed over. The front wall features three built-in Gothic carvings, including one head of a man and two beast heads.
