Description
The Old Printing House is a substantial house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed with colourwashed render and features nogged brick eaves, a medium-pitch slate roof, and short stone end stacks. The building has a long three-storey front with three windows. On either side of the central door, there are twelve-pane sash windows with wood-panelled reveals and a moulded wood cornice. The first floor has a central four-pane sash window, while the outer windows have been lengthened and widened in the 20th century to accommodate tripartite two-four-two pane sashes. The upper windows are four-pane, and all windows have slate sills. The front garden is enclosed by a rendered, coped low wall, which is complemented by early 20th-century Art Nouveau cast-iron low rails and a gate. To the right, there is a one-window extension built over a carriageway, featuring a large square oriel window on a rendered base, a slate roof, and a brick end stack.
