Description

The gate to the New Churchyard at the Church of St Brynarch is a cast-iron structure dated 1810, which has been reused between stone gatepiers from around 1928. The piers feature concrete stepped caps and ball finials, with curving rubble walls on either side. The gate itself has diagonally intersected bars in the lower section, leading to a rail adorned with quatrefoils and spearheads between the upper stanchions, topped with spearheads over a down-curved top. A plaque on the front displays the monogram G.B. of G.J.B., and the rear is marked with the date 1810, likely commemorating George Bowen of Llwyngwair, who passed away in that year.
