Description
The forecourt wall and piers serving Nos 1-5 Lexden Terrace, along with the rails for No 6, are constructed from roughcast rubble stone and topped with slate capping. The wall curves away from the main entrance at No 1 and continues down the street to the forecourt of No 6. The carriage entrance at No 1 is wide and features two large gate piers made of dressed grey limestone with stepped capping. The forecourt railings for No 6 are similar to the railings found along the entire terrace, consisting of spearhead rails on a coped rendered wall, which angle in towards rendered piers adorned with small cast-iron finials and 20th-century gates. A similar railing once separated the forecourt of No 6 from that of Nos 1-5; part of this railing remains and ends at a thin rendered brick pier above the end of the forecourt wall for Nos 1-5.
