Description
The small limekiln located on the northwest side of Carrog Car Park likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from rubble stone and earth and consists of apparently two kilns: one larger kiln with kiln-eyes to the north and south, and a smaller kiln to the west. An earth and stone ramp leads up to the main kiln from the north. The eastern side of the main kiln is high, featuring irregular stone walls that are angled at the southeast corner. The kiln-eyes are broad and pointed, with one being obscured behind the Beach Cafe. The crucible is filled with earth, and the smaller kiln has one visible kiln eye on its west side.
