Description
Rhydyfantwn Bach is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, built from whitewashed rubble stone with a slate roof and rendered stacks, one at the west end and a larger one on the ridge. The main range is two storeys high with three windows, while there is a two-window service range to the right, both sharing a single roof. The main house features 12-pane sash windows on the outer sides and a pair of casement windows in the centre, which replaces a former door. The windows have thick split stone sills, timber lintels above the upper windows, and painted stone voussoirs on the ground floor openings.
The service range to the right does not have a structural divide and has a window on each floor, with stone voussoirs below and a timber lintel above the upper window. There is also a door with stone voussoirs to the right, although it has modern windows. The main house has a rear outshut with a rendered west end that includes a door. Attached to the east end are two stone outbuildings with differing roof pitches.
Inside, there is a large timber lintel over the eastern fireplace and a narrow dog-leg staircase. The roof structure has been replaced.
