Description
Plas Pantsaeson is a building designed in a stucco classical style, featuring slate hipped roofs. The rear sections are extensive and simpler, likely added at a later date. The main front has a two-storey elevation with five windows and a pair of rendered ridge stacks. There is a heavy plain band at the first floor and a moulded eaves cornice. The windows are 12-pane sashes, plain below, with pediments on console brackets above; these pediments may have been added later. The centre of the façade is slightly projected forward, with a blocking course over the cornice and a central shield supported by scrolls. There are paired Ionic pilasters flanking the first floor window and broad double doors on the ground floor, which have sidelights and a large small-paned overlight. The door is set within an impressive projecting Doric porch that features a triglyph and mutule cornice, along with paired Roman Doric columns at the front and a single pilaster respond on the inside. Slate steps lead up to the entrance.
The west side elevation has five plain windows and is finished in unpainted render, with a band and first floor pediments similar to those on the main front. The north front has three windows and follows the same style. The three sections of the building enclose a narrow service court, which features a tall arched stair-light on one side.
Inside, the building has a centralised plan with a broad spine hall. An elliptical arch leads to the stair hall located at the rear right, which is stone flagged and features a two-flight stone curved cantilever staircase with stick balusters. The main rooms are fitted with six-panel doors and plaster cornices.
