Description

The limekiln, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is a circular structure made of rubble stone and built into a bank. It features opposed low kiln-eyes of the Dewisland type, with tapering heads beneath short stone-slab lintels. The crucible has been infilled. This limekiln is one of a pair located at the foot of Solva Hill, with the other kiln mostly demolished. Nearby, but not included in this listing, is a former two-storey storehouse that is also built into the bank. The limekiln is in a deteriorating condition.
