Description

Tudor Lodge is a two-storey house dating from the Tudor period, set back from the road. The front range features a three-window facade facing south, constructed of rendered rubble masonry painted white. It has a pantiled roof with end chimneys, which are oval in shape above the roof level. The main front windows are sash type with pointed heads above a transom, and the upstairs windows, which protrude above the eaves line as quasi-dormers, have three and six-pane sashes, while the lower windows have six-pane sashes. The window frames are recessed, and the glazing bars in the pointed heads are interlaced. The side windows are casement type, also featuring similar transoms and pointed heads.

At the rear, there are two wings with end chimneys that extend to meet the rear range, which includes the servants' quarters above. The overall layout forms a rectangle with a central open area that is now roofed over. This central area contains a stone staircase leading to the upper floor of the rear range, as well as an oven and a capped well.

The doors are of six sunk panels, and there is a ledged and battened door leading to the central room of the servants' quarters. A parget Tudor Rose is displayed on a panel overlooking the central area, and there is a restored ogee ceiling in the first-floor passage.
