Description

This is a red painted cast-iron telephone kiosk located by Rhydlewis Bridge. It features a shallow domed roof with four lunettes that have embossed George VI crowns. The kiosk has narrow lettered transparent panels and ventilation slits. There are horizontal glazing bars on two sides, and the iron door includes marginal glazing bars, a raised surround, and a moulded plinth. The rear of the kiosk is blank and displays a maker's plate from the Lion Foundry in Kirkintilloch.
