Description

5 Priory Terrace is a two-storey house built from red brick, featuring extensive decorative elements in moulded or pressed brick. The central house is gabled and set forward, with one window and a door to the left. The other houses have two windows each. The upper windows are 4-pane sashes with notched brick segmental heads, slate sills, and painted wood boards with incised crosses above the window heads. Each ground floor has a canted bay with hipped metal-clad roofs, while the central house has a two-storey bay and a door to the left. All doors are two-panel, set within notched brick segmental pointed arches, with carved heads of varied designs acting as keystones. The central house features a bargeboarded gable and a small pointed attic light, along with red brick ridge stacks.

The building displays extensive decorative brickwork, including ornamentation on the plinth, panels between the bay windows and doors, and a panel on the bay apron, which survives only on No. 9. There is a prominent pulvinated zig-zag frieze between the floors, leaf-pattern panels between the upper windows, and a zig-zag and nailhead eaves course that continues on the central gable.
