Description
The Ebenezer Morris Monument is a large arch made of rusticated Pwntan sandstone located in the churchyard of Troedyraur. It features back-to-back slate plaques framed by raised plinths, rusticated piers, raised impost courses, and a rusticated curved head, although the top two courses are missing. The proportions of the arch are slightly rustic, with the top curve not aligning with the inner arch. Each slate plaque has a carved tympanum on either side, displaying the letters "IHS" and downturned torches. One plaque commemorates the Rev. Dafydd Morris of Penyffos, who died in 1791, and his son, the Rev. Ebenezer Morris of Blaenywern, Llangynllo, who died in 1825. The other plaque honors Mary, the wife of Ebenezer Morris, who died in 1845, along with their children.
