Description
The railings surrounding the tomb of John Evans at Tanygraig, located at Capel Bethel, are a notable feature. The slate table tomb, dedicated to John Evans who died in 1843, is adorned with moulded angle columns and inset raised plaques. The enclosure is surrounded by ornate large iron railings, which include spearhead rails that are scrolled below the top rail, along with scrolled tops on the corner and two intermediate stanchions on each side. The south side features an entrance arch decorated with eroded scrolls and a tall top finial that is richly embellished with scrolls. There is also a damaged iron gate that matches the spearhead rail design. Additionally, the center of the north side has a similarly tall finial.
