Description

Bwthyn y Wawr is a house, likely dating from the 18th century, constructed of painted rubble stone with a slate roof. A stone stack is located on the right-hand side, while a shared stack exists on the left, serving also the adjacent property, Clydfan. The house is two storeys in height and features three bays. Long, 20th-century six-pane windows are set under the eaves, while the lower floors are fitted with twelve-pane sashes. Two of these sashes are modern replacements, while the third, dated to the 19th century, retains horns. Slate sills are present throughout. Originally, there were two doors set within gabled stone surrounds, one on either side of the central window. The right-hand door has been removed. The remaining left-hand door is enclosed within a slate-roofed gabled surround, made up of rubble stone piers and a slightly projecting gable with a pointed arch. It features half-glazed double doors and a triangular, traceried overlight. The right gable presents a single window on its right side. Overhanging verges are also visible on the gables. A rear outshut is present. The building was not available for inspection.
