Description

Is-y-bryn is one half of a cottage pair, built in the 19th century. The front is made of red brick, laid in Flemish bond, featuring dentilled eaves and a slate roof with a large red brick chimney stack situated between the two houses. The building has two storeys, each with one window bay and an outer door with a cornice. The windows, which have brick voussoirs and stone sills, include a 20th-century metal triple casement on the first floor, above a horned square large 8-paned sash. The outer door is framed and ledged, with thin cover strips, set within a doorcase that has thin reeded pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice. The rear elevations are plastered and have single-storey outshuts. The front is paved with stone setts. The interior has not been inspected.
