Description
The former station building, located near the junction with the A44, served the New Radnor branch of the Kington/Eardisley Railway, which opened in September 1875. This simple, single-unit structure features a lean-to on the right side and is constructed of rockfaced rubble with a plinth course. It has cambered voussoir lintels and a shallow-pitch slate roof adorned with a crested ridge, as well as decorative pierced barge and eaves boards. A brick end stack with an ornamental clay pot completes the exterior.
On the former platform side, there is a wide central entrance with panelled double doors, flanked by cross-pattern windows that are deep-set with stone cills. The opposite side has windows on the rear wall and narrow boarded doors leading to WCs in the lean-to, each equipped with a small square window. Inside, the layout includes a waiting room with a fireplace and a booking office that features a stove.
