Description
The Church of St Teilo is a Grade II* listed building featuring a nave and chancel with a lower roof line, a large south porch, and a prominent west tower topped with a pyramid roof. The structure is constructed from rubble stone and has a stone tile roof. It includes two-light cusped windows throughout, with a large east window designed in the local Perpendicular style. The east wall displays several wall tablets. The priest's door and the south door are adorned with chamfered pointed arches.
Inside the porch, there are stone benches, a stoup, and 15th-century roof timbers, which include one arch-braced truss and another with cusped decoration. The nave roof, likely from the 15th century, has a barrel profile with wide chamfered ribs and carved bosses, although some of the bosses have been replaced in the 19th century. The pointed chancel arch is plastered, and the chancel features brattished wall plates, 17th-century communion rails, and a piscina. A 14th-century octagonal font is present, along with re-used 17th and 18th-century dado panelling and 19th-century furnishings, including a vestry screen at the west end. The flooring consists of tile and wood, and there is a primitive wooden chest on legs in the vestry. The church houses three bells.
