Description

Rhiwlas Terrace is a timber-framed terrace consisting of seven workers' cottages, featuring four pressed brick chimneys from the early 20th century, with the right chimney being taller to rise above the adjacent house. The cottages have a slate roof and are arranged in three mirrored pairs, with an additional later house on the right. Each house has a single window on each floor. The large square-framed panels display one visible straight angle-brace, with others seen in old photographs. The central section has heavy timbers, while the end houses on the left have lighter timbers but maintain the same design. The end house on the right also has lighter timbers but features a different frame pattern. Most of the houses retain twelve-pane Yorkshire (horizontal) sash windows on each floor, and houses numbered 4 and 6 still have simple boarded doors.
