Description

Rhiwlas Terrace is a timber-framed terrace consisting of seven workers' cottages. It features four pressed brick chimneys from the early 20th century, with the right chimney being taller to rise above the adjacent house, and a slate roof. The terrace is arranged in three mirrored pairs, with an additional later house on the right. Each cottage has a single window on each floor. The large square-framed panels display one visible straight angle-brace, with others seen in old photographs. The central section has heavy timbers, while the end houses on the left have lighter timbers but maintain the same design. The end house on the right also has lighter timbers and a different frame pattern. Most of the cottages retain twelve-pane Yorkshire (horizontal) sash windows on each floor, and houses numbered 4 and 6 still have simple boarded doors.
