Description
East Lodge to Maesllwch Castle is a building constructed from rock-faced sandstone ashlar and features a hipped slate roof. The structure has three bays, with a central open porch that is highlighted by a gabled extension projecting from the central bay. Inside, there are two main rooms, each with corner fireplaces. All openings in the lodge are designed with Tudor arches and heavy labels.
Access to the open porch is via four steps, and the porch itself has Tudor arches on three sides, complemented by recessed spandrels. The windows are timber mullioned and transomed, with three-light configurations in shallow bays at both ends. The gable is adorned with arcaded bargeboards that are scrolled at the ends. Additionally, there is a triple stack on the rear roof pitch, which supports two octagonal shafts. The rear of the building has various later lean-to extensions.
