Description
The Cross Guns Inn, along with number 32 Park Street in Newtown, is constructed from English garden wall bond brick, featuring some rubble work and a plastered front. It has a gently pitched slate roof with a plain eaves cornice. A tall composite brick stack rises from the ridge, while a lateral brick stack on the front elevation serves the weaving lofts at the right end. The former weaving lofts have shallow three-light iron casements, as do the first floor windows, which have cambered heads and shallow reveals, though the sills are later additions. The ground floor has modern windows. A later 19th-century gabled timber porch with bargeboards and finials, along with boarded sides, features a panelled door and an additional door with a cambered head at the extreme right.
At the rear of the weaving loft, there are three-light casements and several blocked windows. Inside, the partition walls are timber framed and brick nogged.
