Description

Fron-Y-Gog is a two-storey building from the early 19th century, featuring a six-bay front that is painted roughcast and partly set back. It has a plinth and ornamental quoins, with undulating slate roofs, wide boarded eaves, and rendered chimney stacks. The roof is hipped over the extreme right-hand bay. The second, third, and fourth bays are set back and now include a lean-to small pane glazed sun loggia that extends to the level of the flanking gabled bays. The right-hand gable features cusped bargeboards.

The building has small pane sash windows, mostly with nine panes on the first floor and twelve panes on the ground floor of the gabled bays, including a horned twelve-pane sash on the right-hand gable. All windows have lugged architraves with mid-rail bosses, which are also present on the keystones of the gabled bays. The first-floor windows are equipped with cast-iron window box holders. The loggia contains French doors, and there is a half-glazed door at the far right end, also with a similar architrave.

At the left end, there is a gabled porch added during remodelling, featuring similar cusped bargeboards. The pointed arch entrance on the southeast side has chamfered jambs with an extruded corner to the left. The right end has two windows with twelve-pane sash windows and plain architraves, along with a similar window box holder for the lean-to. The rear of the building includes paired cross ranges at the northeast end and some dormers.

Inside, there is an earlier 19th-century staircase with inlay on the turned newel, panelled doors, and some broad architraves. The main room features a broad reeded ceiling cornice. The kitchen fireplace has a timber lintel dated 1702, and the walls are notably deep.
