Description
Weston Farmhouse, formerly known as Lower Weston, is an L-plan building with the east wing being a later addition. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features slate roofs with deep eaves and rubble end stacks, one of which projects from the east wing and has a brick upper section. The former main doorways to the earlier range, located at either end of the cross passage, are now blocked. The current main entrance, dating from the early 19th century, is situated in the northern corner and consists of a six flush-panelled door with an overlight, accompanied by an open flat-roofed porch supported by two slender turned columns.
The farmhouse has a harmonious arrangement of windows throughout, featuring variously proportioned moulded timber frames with iron-framed casements and small-pane glazing. These windows are all set under dressed stone flat arches and have stone sills.
Attached to the farmhouse is a former stable that has been converted into an outbuilding. It is constructed of rubble stone and has an iron roof, with boarded double doors and small-pane glazing.
