No 2 Sarn-y-bryn-caled Cottages

No 2 Sarn-y-bryn-caled Cottages is part of a pair of cottages built around 1830 by the Powis Estate for agricultural workers. The cottages are constructed from local roughly coursed stone and feature a graded slate roof with a brick axial stack. They are two storeys high and consist of small two-unit cottages with a single rear wing. Each cottage has a central entrance, and the simple timber porches, which are later additions, interrupt the hood-mould over the ledged doorway. The windows, which are flaking, are 2-light iron small-paned casements with drop-ended hood moulds on the ground floor and timber lintels below the eaves above.

These cottages are part of a group that exemplifies a small estate settlement, retaining much of its original character.
