Description

Berriew Aqueduct is a structure built from blue and red engineering brick, featuring stone dressings. It has two main arches that span the river, with a keeled stone cutwater positioned between them. Each arch includes a stone drip mould, and a moulded string course marks the base of the deck. There are narrower side arches that support the road and a track, which are similarly detailed. The arches are separated by projecting pilaster buttresses. The parapet is adorned with plain cruciform-section cast iron posts and railings. On the east face, there is a stone plaque that is inscribed with the date of restoration.
