Description
The Marianne Lloyd memorial is a Gothic-style monument made of grey sandstone, located in a churchyard. It features a three-step plinth, with the top step having a chamfered base moulding. The pedestal has a coved cornice adorned with rosettes and hollow-chamfered angles also inset with rosettes. Atop the pedestal is a complex small spire. The square base transitions inward to an octagonal shape, with a cusped lancet panel on each side. Above this is an inset octagonal shaft, which also has a cusped lancet panel on each face, a coved cornice, and a ribbed spire decorated with heavy crockets and an iron cross finial. The pedestal includes Gothic lettered inscriptions: one side is dedicated to Marianne Lloyd, the south side to Rev John Lloyd of Castell Forwyn (who died in 1891), the north side to Isabel M. Welch (who died in 1915), and the east side to J.M.E. Lloyd of Plas Trefaldwyn (who died in 1910).
