Description
Aber Dunant is a 17th century timber-framed building featuring a lobby entry. A third unit was added beyond the chimney in the 19th century, along with modern outshots to the rear. The interior includes a hall with a service room at the northeast end.
The building is one and a half storeys tall with a two-bay box frame structure, characterized by square panels with braces. The panels are primarily made of wattle and daub, with some brickwork. It has a stone plinth and a steeply pitched slate roof with bargeboards. The northeast gable end is lap-boarded, and there is a small gabled dormer at eaves level on the front elevation. The original doorway has been converted into a window at the extreme left of the front elevation, and there are late 19th century timber casement windows.
Inside, there is a cambered mantel beam and a single axial ceiling beam, with a cross frame that forms a partition wall. The doorways are plain, with later cuts made to accommodate the outshots at the rear.
