Description
The former pumphouse at Victoria Wells is a single-storey building designed in a pavilion style. It features a main southeast-facing range with a contemporary addition that has a gabled roof on the left side. The structure is timber clad and topped with a slate roof, showcasing crenellated ridges, finials, and wide decorative bargeboards along the deep eaves. The main range includes a nearly continuous row of windows, which are interrupted by simple vertical glazing. The main entrance is offset to the right, leading to a continuous veranda at the front.
The later extension on the left has a central doorway with a newer door and a canopy above. It also features tripartite windows on both the right gable and the rear gable of the extension. At the back, there is a lean-to extension that is likely original but has altered glazing and does not span the full width of the building.
Inside, the pumphouse has been sub-divided for chalet accommodation but still retains timber board linings on the walls and ceiling. The left section of the main range is said to contain the original well, which is now capped.
