Description
Domgay House is a Grade II listed building designed in the cottage ornee style. It is two storeys tall and has a square plan, featuring a central cluster of four octagonal yellow brick chimney stacks with oversailing courses. The exterior is made of rusticated stone blocks with tooled edges, topped by a slate hipped roof and decorative pierced trefoil eaves boards.
The house has two types of windows: a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window on the first floor, both with casements set in beaded mullion frames. These windows are adorned with moulded stone hoods that have drops and returns. Notably, the first-floor window on the east wall is blind. The front door is located in a hipped corner section, constructed from similar masonry that connects to an older cottage. This door is part-glazed and features a panelled design with a timber porch that has a trellis.
Adjoining the main house is a portion of an older cottage, which is possibly from the early 19th century. This section is one-and-a-half storeys high, built with rubble blocks and has a pegged king post roof. It also has a pair of octagonal yellow brick chimney stacks on the gable end.
