Description
Cwm-Weeg is a building featuring a rendered exterior with an exposed cruck frame on the northern gable and a slate roof. It is one storey and attic in height, with the southern end, which was formerly a barn, now converted into two-storey accommodation. The building has a boarded door set in a porch, timber windows with panes, and a gabled dormer on the eastern side. There are brick stacks present, and the structure has been extended to the west with a glazed conservatory.
The original section of the building consists of two bays, defined by three cruck trusses. It was originally designed with an open hearth, which was later replaced by an inserted stone stack, likely in the late 16th century. The cruck frames extend down to near ground level and feature collars and a morticed apex that is trenched for the ridge (Alcock Type C). These frames support one tier of trenched purlins and stub ties to the wall posts. Additionally, there is a cellar located beneath the first bay of the two-storey section.
