Description
Tyn y Waun Farmhouse is a two-storey house with a rendered exterior and a slate roof. On the left side, there is a very large square stone chimney with an oversailing top course, while on the right side, there is a rectangular stone chimney. The house features two windows on each floor, although they have modern glazing.
Attached to the farmhouse is a barn that is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, also topped with a slate roof that has eaves lower than those of the house. To the right, there is a brick-fronted entrance to the house, which includes a door and a window. The barn has a gabled dormer loading door, three doorways, and a higher loading door on the left side. The ground slopes to the left, where the left end of the barn is two storeys high, providing animal accommodation at the lower level. The gable apex of this section is weatherboarded, while the lower level is made of stone and features a doorway.
Inside the barn, the loft is supported by heavily built framing, and at least one truss has curved principal rafters.
