Description
The building is an attached barn to Tyn y Waun Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. The farmhouse is two storeys high, rendered, and topped with a slate roof. On the left side, there is a very large square stone chimney with an oversailing top course, while on the right side, there is a rectangular stone chimney. The farmhouse features two windows on each floor, although they have modern glazing.
The attached barn is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, also featuring a slate roof that has eaves set lower than those of the house. To the right, there is a brick-fronted entrance to the house, which includes a door and a window. The barn has a gabled dormer loading door and three doorways, along with a higher loading door on the left side. The ground slopes to the left, where the left end of the barn is two storeys high, providing animal accommodation at the lower level. The gable apex is weatherboarded, and the stone lower level has a doorway.
Inside, the barn is lofted and features heavily built framing. At least one truss includes curved principal rafters.
