Description
Hafod-y-Bwch Hall features a timber-framed barn constructed with a box frame design. The main structure consists of vertical posts and minor horizontal members, with brick nogging and some rubble present in the northern bay. The barn has a slate roof. The western elevation is partially hidden by a later lean-to addition, while the eastern elevation showcases a regular pattern of loft entries and a doorway that aligns with a western entrance, indicating the location of the threshing bay.
The barn comprises five bays, each framed with a sill beam and a tie beam that is braced to the wall posts. Most of the bays are supported by braced A-frame trusses, with one queen-post truss located towards the northern end. Additionally, one of the central trusses features an elaborately stop-chamfered re-used tie-beam.
