Description
Higher Wych is a timber-framed house featuring a tile roof and brick stacks. The front of the house has a lower storey of rendered brick, with a central door that has vertical ribs and studs, flanked by three-light casement windows that have replaced earlier openings. The upper storey is timber-framed with square panels and ornate ogee braces. It retains original window openings on the right and left sides, with moulded wooden sills, and has replacement three-light casements. To the right, there are two progressively lower one-storey extensions, both with rendered walls; the first extension has a tile roof, while the second has a slate roof.
The rear of the main house has three box-framed windows with two-light casement windows in earlier openings. The lower storey features a lean-to that occupies the centre and right side.
Although not inspected, the house is recorded as having ovolo-moulded beams and stopped bevelled joists. The staircase features an unusual balustrade on the first and second floors. The first floor also has bevelled beams and stopped bevelled joists, while the attic contains original trusses and purlins.
