Description
The gate and gate-piers at Pickhill Hall Lodge date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. There are two stone gate-piers, each featuring a moulded base and cap, a central panel, and splayed consoles that match the profile of those on the main elevation of Pickhill Hall. The northern pier has lost some stone from the top. A modern wooden five-bar gate provides access to Pickhill Hall Lodge. To the west, there is an original wooden five-bar gate from the late 18th century to early 19th century, which remains attached to the southern pier. This gate is made of chamfered wood and includes decorative wrought-iron bars capped with acanthus, running through the bottom rails.
