Description

Elms Cottage is an early 19th century double-pile brick house, though it may incorporate a core from an earlier date. The house is two storeys high and has a gently-pitched slate roof with a shallow eaves cornice and a plain stuccoed chimney. The front facade is stuccoed and consists of three bays, with a central entrance which is now disused. A projecting, plain pedimented doorcase shelters a recessed six-panelled door. Flanking the door are two sash windows with twelve panes each, featuring narrow glazing bars and projecting stone sills. Three similar windows are located on the first floor, with the window on the left side now a dummy. At the rear, the building has dentilated eaves and flush sash windows.
