Description
The Aedicular Gateway at Aston Hall is an early 17th century brick structure featuring sandstone detailing. It has an entrance with a segmental arch and a moulded entablature. On either side of the entrance are a pair of weathered Doric capitals, although the shafts are missing. The gateway is topped with three shaped decorative stone crenellations, with the larger central one displaying the date 1617, which has been re-cut. To the right, there is a section of brick wall approximately 4 feet in height.
