Description
6 Glanyrafon Cottages is a row of 11 single-fronted, 2-storey cottages built of rubble stone, featuring barge boards and a slate roof with diagonally set stone ridge stacks. Cottages 1, 3, and 7 have attic windows in their gables. The openings are topped with stone lintels that have drip stones in the lower storey, as well as in the upper storey and attic of cottages 1, 3, and 7. The other cottages have upper-storey windows located beneath the eaves, and all windows are fitted with stone sills. Each cottage has its window positioned to the left of the doorway. Between cottages 6 and 7, there is a passage at the lower storey level, featuring segmental stone arches at both the front and rear walls, which leads to a passage at the back. On the right side of the passage, cottages 7 to 11 have a higher roof line. Cottages 11 and 12 have a slightly deeper plan and feature pairs of diagonal stacks. The houses include rear doors and windows that have been renewed in earlier openings.
Internally, each cottage consists of two rooms on the lower storey, with restored boarded doors and 3-light casements.
