Description
4 Glanyrafon Cottages is a row of 11 single-fronted, 2-storey cottages built from rubble stone, featuring barge boards and a slate roof with diagonally set stone ridge stacks. Cottages numbered 1, 3, and 7 include attic windows in their gables. The openings are adorned with stone lintels and drip stones on the lower storey, while the upper storey and attic of Nos 1, 3, and 7 also have these features. The other cottages have upper-storey windows positioned beneath the eaves, and all windows are fitted with stone sills. Each cottage has its window located on the left side of the doorway. Between Nos 6 and 7, there is a passage at lower storey level, featuring segmental stone arches on the front and rear walls, which leads to a passage at the back. The roofline is higher for Nos 7-11, which also have a slightly deeper plan and pairs of diagonal stacks. The cottages have rear doors and windows that have been renewed in earlier openings.
Internally, each cottage consists of 2 rooms on the lower storey, with restored boarded doors and horizontal-sliding sash windows. There is a gabled projection at the rear built over the passage.
