Description

A 3-storey mill of rubble stone and slate roof. Original openings have stone segmental heads and were renewed c1983. The lower storey has a wide former doorway with keystone to the R (now a window) and a second doorway L, also converted to a window. In the middle storey are windows to the centre and at a higher level to the L. Against the L gable end the former wheelpit survives, with a stone retaining wall to the rear. The original circular dressed-stone opening for the wheel's axle has been converted to a round-headed doorway. Above it is an attic window.

The R gable end has windows to the L in the middle storey and in the attic, with an inserted window in the upper storey. Set back against the R gable end is the rubble-stone mill house, which is 2-storey and double fronted, and has a slate roof with brick stacks to the centre and R. The openings have brick segmental heads to the lower storey and are beneath the eaves in the upper storey. The doorway retains a C19 boarded door, the windows are replacements of c1983. Behind, the mill house has an outshut, with a boarded door in the side wall and an inserted toilet window. At the rear of the mill the ground level is higher, and has inserted windows, but retains a doorway upper R with boarded door and a doorway on the L side of the middle storey.

A pitched roof of asbestos slates is attached to the L gable end of the mill, over the wheelpit, and is continuous with a stable and cart shed. This is rubble stone and has openings under wooden lintels. On the R side is are garage doors with brick surround, L of which is a shuttered window and boarded door.

Interior converted to a public house.
