Description
Timber-framing with painted brick nogging and a stone plinth, rubble, painted on the E face, slate roof, brick chimneys. 1½ storeys with 2-storey rear wing, L-shaped plan. The front (E) elevation consists of a range to the right with a C20 ground floor window and an offset gabled dormer probably of C19 date. There is an entrance on the left side and to the left of this is the gabled end of the W range which has no openings. A chimney rises from the gable. The right-hand return elevation is similar, but the rubble is not painted. The left-hand return elevation has a range with 3 windows to the ground floor and is timber-framed in square panels, some with diagonal braces. There is a gabled dormer offset to the right and a simple square-headed dormer to the left. Attached to the left is a 2-storey stone rubble range with one window per floor and a door to the right. The upper window is a multipaned casement. The rear (S) elevation shows signs of alteration to the stonework of the stone-built range suggesting that a doorway in this face was opposed to that on the other side. There is one small square window to the ground floor and a multipaned casement to the upper floor. The remaining elevation to the left is framed in square panels with some diagonal braces. This range has two ground-floor windows, that to the right being a 3-light timber mullion. The rear (W) elevation has one window and is timber-framed in rectangular panels. Attached to the left is a low stone outbuilding.
Has chamfered ceiling beams and timber-framed walls with parts of the roof-trusses exposed in the upper floor. Two rooms have fireplaces with timber bressummers, that to the W wing with an opening connecting to the stone outbuilding.
