Description
12 Bridge Street consists of two buildings with three-storey elevations faced in scribed render, featuring plinths and rusticated quoins. Both buildings have slate roofs. Number 10 has boarded eaves and red brick chimney stacks at the ends, while number 12 has wave moulded cornice eaves and chimney stacks rendered in cement. Number 10 has a two-window front with four-pane sashes and a simple shop front featuring pilasters and panelled double doors, alongside a more modern door to the left. At the corner where the building fronts onto a splayed angle, the eaves overlap, with the roof pitch slightly steeper on the number 12 side. A one-window bay occupies the corner, with small-pane sashes. Rusticated quoins are visible to the left of this bay, leading to the three-window front of number 12. The second floor features tripartite sashes flanked by a central casement window. The first floor has two Victorian splayed oriels. The space between these oriels has been later filled in with a wider four-light window, with the original central window retained behind. The shop front of number 12 includes fascia end brackets and three-light windows flanking a recessed and tiled central entrance, now containing three doorways. A roughcast gable end to the right features banding. Small-pane sash windows are present on the rear and opposite gables.
