2 Terfyn Cottages

2 Terfyn Cottages is one of a group of eight similar cottages that belong to the Kinmel Manor Estate and are attributed to the architect W E Nesfield, dating from around 1868 when he was working at Kinmel Park. The cottages are constructed from axe-dressed uncoursed local limestone, featuring stone lintels and other dressed stone around the openings. They have slate roofs with tiles along the ridges, ridge finials, and metal-covered hips, as well as half-hipped gables and brick chimneys.

These cottages are designed as semi-detached pairs, each with one and a half storeys. The main range of each pair runs parallel to the road, with forward wings that are paired centrally. The entrance lobby, which is one storey high and covered by a single-hipped roof, is located at the angle between the main range and the forward wing. A central chimney rises through the ridge and is shared by both cottages, while each cottage also has a kitchen chimney at the rear, made of brick and set on a stone plinth. In the forward wing, each cottage features a three-light single window above and two two-light windows below. The porch has a plain door at the front and a three-light window on the side. Beyond the porch, there are paired two-light windows on the lower storey. The side elevation includes a three-light window above and a single-light window below.

At the rear, each pair of cottages has a shared central gabled extension, which is likely original, along with other extensions that have been added later, including those with catslide roofs.
