4 Terfyn Cottages

4 Terfyn Cottages is one of a group of eight similar cottages that belong to the Kinmel Manor Estate, attributed to the architect W E Nesfield around 1868, during his work at Kinmel Park. The cottages are constructed from axe-dressed uncoursed local limestone, featuring stone lintels and other dressed stone around the openings. They have slate roofs with tiles along the ridges, ridge finials, and metal-covered hips, along with half-hipped gables and brick chimneys.

These cottages are designed as semi-detached pairs, each with one and a half storeys. The main range of each pair runs parallel to the road, with paired forward wings positioned centrally. The entrance lobby, located at the junction of the main range and the forward wing, is a single storey under a single-hipped roof. A central chimney, which penetrates the ridge, is shared by both cottages. Additionally, each cottage has a kitchen chimney at the rear end of the range, made of brick on a stone plinth.

In the forward wing, each cottage features a three-light single window above and two two-light windows below. The porch includes a plain door at the front and a three-light window on the side. Beyond the porch, there are paired two-light windows on the lower storey. The side elevation has a three-light window above and a single-light window below.

At the rear, each pair of cottages has a shared central gabled extension, likely original, along with other later extensions that include catslide roofs.
