Description
Glanyrafon is a three-storey house built in local stone, featuring three window openings. It has a lean-to addition at the rear that is partly constructed of stone and partly of brickwork, all of which is whitewashed. The roof is covered with unusually small slates, and there are brick chimneys at both ends, with the right chimney projecting externally as it served the original kitchen and has offsets at the top.
The top window openings have replaced frames, while the ground and first storey door and window openings feature segmental arches. The house has four-paned sash windows in exposed frames, although these are 19th-century sashes. The front door includes an overlight.
The main part of the house is blind-backed above the rear extension, which has three casement windows and two doors. Inside, there is a staircase leading from the ground to the second floor with turned balusters. Each of the main rooms on the ground and first floors has original four-panel doors. It is said that the original kitchen fireplace arch, made of stone voussoirs, survives concealed.
